I want to thank each and every one of you for your constant
support. I also want to thank the listeners who contact me to share
their experience, and those who write about my pitches, those who
attend my concerts, those who hear my music in some way or another.
It's a real privilege for me to have you over the years, because along
with the music, you gave me a chronic enthusiasm. Almost every morning
I go to the studio to keep working on the projects I usually have,
but as usual, when some are finished... others begin.
I have to admit that the common trait among artists, who have been
able to sustain a career with the continued support of their listeners,
is that we are blessed (or convicted) with a mixture of persistence,
stubbornness and delirium.

Work in progress...
Some of you may not know that my ad21 CD-Store is no longer working.
it turned 15 years since its release, the album Suite
Patagonia is available from today on Bandcamp
and other platforms. Suite Patagonia was the last work composed in
Buenos Aires before I finally moved to Barcelona in 2000.
'Dedicated to the incredible histories that harboured the lands of
the Patagonia. The Cacique Sayhueque, the Patagonian Giant's myth,
the admiration of the colonists before an unknown fauna, the contact
between the native ones and Magellan's men, curious histories that
touch with the magic and the fantasy, full with myths fed by old conquerors,
scanners and adventurers. "The colourful autochthonous instrumentation
with aboriginal songs, sounds of the southern fauna, the European
vision of a time, of a place, of numberless histories and legends"

Contact Reworked · CD & Digital
It is a collaborative work from Bruno Sanfilippo that features some
of the most highly acclaimed artists from the electronic music scene
including Francesco Giannico, Olan Mill, Leonardo Rosado, Jorge
Haro, Quivion and
Hior Chronik in which an original piece written for piano is re-envisioned
by each artist.
A big thank to all the involved musicians in this project for your
enthusiasm and dedication.
Thank you for listening, B.S.-
Review wrote: "Following on from his critically acclaimed album,
Inside Life, Barcelona based musician
and composer Bruno Sanfilippo has returned with a new collaborative
album. Entitled Upon Contact Reworked,
and due out on the 21st of May this year through his own ad21 label,
the album is less about Sanfilippos own work, and more an expression
of freedom of creativity. Enlisting the help of several noted musicians
from the electronic scene, such as Francesco Giannico, Olan Mill,
Leonardo Rosado, Jorge Haro, Quivion and Hior Chronik, the new album
is an impressive look into the individuality of artistic impression.
Beginning with Sanfilippos own hauntingly beautiful composition,
Upon Contact, each subsequent song features a unique reworking
of the melody, bringing about a series of cohesive, yet startlingly
unique moments as each artist is left to interpret and change the
song at without boundaries. Although each musician is working with
the same canvas, there is such a wealth of talent on show that it
becomes almost impossible to tire of the gentle melody. Every note
sounds fresh and new, and you could easily mistake this collaborative
project as being one cohesive view, and while it seems on the surface
to lack the depth of Inside Life, it manages to reach
stunning moments of fragile serenity.
The true wonder of Upon Contact Reworked is in its
building, pristine nature. Every second of the album has a wholly
organic feel, with no distracting over-production or superfluous notes,
just a simple, direct piano melody and an abundance of creativity"

I am glad to announce that the new album'Inside
Life' is available to you all since today. I have to admit
that, as a musician, I feel something special every release day of
a work. Maybe it's for the amount of time spent on the project, and
naturally, for certain expectation on the feedback.
Although for me as a creator the cycle ends when I finish my work,
and I wouldn't change anything, I feel that the real cycle is finally
closed when my music reaches your ears ... thanks for listening.
"Inside Life immerses the listener into magnificently expressive
modern classical realms, tranquilly minimal, yet exquisitely nuanced,
abundantly poignant and delicately filigree, where stirringly pensive
sadness is masterfully counterpointed with hauntingly embracing stillness,
while intensely evocative ambient subtleties are deliberately permeated
by yearning haze. A truly fabulous bravura performance by Bruno Sanfilippo
and his guests!" R. Gürtler

work. I've enjoyed every step of the process, both times in the studio
next to the piano, and the choosing of names for each piece, or the
artwork design, I think everything is finally in its place, or at
least I've left it there...
For one reason or another, it's been a while since my last release,

During the summer time I visited the Stefano Musso's (Alio Die)
recording studio in Tuscany, Italy. In there we finished rounding
up the concepts of our future collaboration, which started at the
end of 2012 when I received him at my home studio here, near Barcelona.
We will release this work soon, along with a short film made in my
recording studio. Photo below.
I have contributed in a CD compilation [released through the Canadian

I have been working with Marsen

This has been a great year for me, with many album releases: Urbs,

In the meantime, I remain making new music, from electronic sources,
field recordings or simply on piano. The truth is that I don't have
any preferences on this matter.
The next album will be called ClarOscuro. It will be mainly
on solo piano works, plus some pieces with violoncello and violin.
I will give further information about it on the next edition of this
newsletter? Have a great festive season.

On this EP first track, the piano shares a radio interference and
overtones electronically generated, which last until the end of the
piece. The second recording of almost twelve minutes is an improvisation
estructured on a key that it could sound familiar, since it was used
on recordings that belong to other different albums. Even so, this
version, "Solitario", evidently is more calm and spaced
than the other ones. "Aquarelle sur bois" is a recording
with no processing whatsoever. The track was taken out of a video
clip filmed by Georgie Uris.

Finally available digitally Bruno Sanfilippo's first EP
"I've been recording several piano improvisations over the last
few months. Mastered by Taylor Deupree at 12k.
One of those sessions was filmed by Franco Fantini. See below.
"The title Urbs derives from the prominent incorporation urban
sound environments, recorded by Sanfilippo in urban environments such
as train stations, streets, bars and other public areas to explore
the boundaries between the textural sounds which surround all of us
day to day, and the nature of composed sound art such as music. These
"real world" sound textures merge with more traditional
electronics such as synthesizers and samplers, leaving no doubt as
to the composed and "intentional" nature of these soundscapes.
Gentle and evocative, subtly textural and transporting, Urbs is something
we genuinely expect to become a long-term favorite among Hypnos releases."
